If you wheel in mud, rock, sand, or tight brush, fender flares take abuse. What an off road fender flare upgrade actually changes
The biggest reason people start looking at flares is simple - bigger tires. Once you move up in tire size or switch to a wheel with a different offset, stock flares often stop doing the job. Tires stick out farther, throw more mud, and can make your rig less friendly on wet roads and less protected on the trail.
A good flare setup can add coverage where you need it and help keep rocks, dirt, and road grime from blasting the side of the vehicle.
